SINGAPORE: Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Baey Yam Keng, 37, has joined Singapore's largest public relations firm, Hill & Knowlton as an accounts director in its Public Affairs practice.
Mr Baey, whose prior job was in the corporate marketing department of property giant, CapitaLand, holds a Master's degree with distinction in Biochemical Engineering from University College London and a First Class Honours degree in Biotechnology from Imperial College London.
He began his career in 1995 with Economic Development Board before moving on to the Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts in 2003 as Director (Creative Industries Singapore).
Mr Baey is also the founding President of The ETCeteras, a local theatre company.
His production experience over 15 years centred on strategic partnerships, marketing and publicity.
Also joining Hill & Knowlton this week is former journalist Loh Hui Yin.
Ms Loh, who was the corporate affairs head of property company Guocoland prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, will be an accounts director dealing with corporates and financial institutions.
Said Hill &Knowlton head, Jimmy Tay: "This is a people business and we are always on the lookout for the right talent. We have been talking to Mr Baey and Ms Loh for some months now, but being senior people they needed time to settle matters at their previous firms."
