One of the more prominent stalls this year is BURP Live Station Catering, which sells lobster rolls and White Rabbit drinks.
And our previous review of it, extracted from our article:
“Chunks of lobster, a nicely toasted bun and a side of what tasted like cassava chips.
We enjoyed the bun and the lobster serving was generous, but the overall dish was slightly forgettable.
One obvious deterrent was its S$19 price tag for a large roll, although the stall appeared rather popular while we were there.
A regular-sized roll is S$12.
Verdict: Would pay S$9.90
Where to go: BURP Live Station Catering, WGSA G359″
“Regret” spending S$19
Unfortunately, since the bazaar’s start on May 3, a number of customers have found the lobster rolls unsatisfactory.
One Twitter user called it a “complete mess” and shared Facebook comments from disappointed customers:
Most felt that it wasn’t worth the money, what with the dry buns and small portions of unappealing lobster.
Update on May 9, 2019: In response to the article, BURP has apologised to its customers.
You can read their response in full here:
“We recently read your post about the food reviews given by the netizens on the lobster rolls.
We would like to reassure our customers that their feedbacks have been taken into account, and we sincerely apologize for the bad weekend delivery we had on our food items.
We truly apologize that the illustration on our merchandises and posters is not accurately representative.
We have decided to tweak our recipes, provide the proper training to our staff with regards to those changes as well as having a better timely response for customer feedback. Such feedbacks are important to us to improve.
We apologize once again for the inconvenience caused. We do hope we are able to regain our customers’ support and also to be able to redeem ourselves to serve good quality food to them.”
Update on May 10, 2019: BURP has released another apology addressed to their customers, for not meeting expectations.
They have also promised “significant improvement” in their service and food items.
