One of the more prominent stalls this year is BURP Live Station Catering, which sells lobster rolls and White Rabbit drinks.

And our previous review of it, extracted from our article:

“Chunks of lobster, a nicely toasted bun and a side of what tasted like cassava chips.

We enjoyed the bun and the lobster serving was generous, but the overall dish was slightly forgettable.

One obvious deterrent was its S$19 price tag for a large roll, although the stall appeared rather popular while we were there.

A regular-sized roll is S$12.

Verdict: Would pay S$9.90

Where to go: BURP Live Station Catering, WGSA G359″

“Regret” spending S$19
Unfortunately, since the bazaar’s start on May 3, a number of customers have found the lobster rolls unsatisfactory.

One Twitter user called it a “complete mess” and shared Facebook comments from disappointed customers:

Most felt that it wasn’t worth the money, what with the dry buns and small portions of unappealing lobster.

The Chinese are willing to pay $100 for lobster. This is cheap stuff.

KNN tam chia ter nao sinkie willing to pay $19 for a bun from loan and robbery then complain too expensive KNN they deserve to eatshitndie KNN

Maybe the bazaar should have a hire purchase plan for this lobster bun too.....

Compared to the one charged in London, 19 bucks is cheap. At least it’s not a crab stick.

Lobsters used to be food for prisoners in the US until some genius seafood seller hyped it up. many people forgot lobsters are scum feeders.

Let's save this thread with pix of real lobstaaaah rolls from Bawstun

Sinkie version in the OP is obviously part of this same fine culinary tradition

hanor, the m&ds can also ask for the head instead of only the lobster tail - good for decoration in time for hrp.
pity that harvey, best denki, gain city, ikea etc don't stock these for a great centerpiece décor to go with the lontong

I doubt the lobster eatery has enough business from moslems to sustain their $19 ripoff bun. Business at the bazaar is not as good as in previous years because of the insistence of halal eateries only. It is obvious to all by now, moslems included, that the moslem shariah way of doing things only lead to economic and security decline. But we still have to do things the lousy shariah way because of the fragile moslem pride.

I dunno why anyone bother to fast in the first place, then curse when the food is bad.
There is nothing in muslim holy book that says you must fast. If they did, they would not have bern able to convert people from the atlantic to the pacific.

I also see Melayus selling takoyaki at the bazaar.

Chunky Lobsters better lah!!!!!!

Chunky Lobsters dangles an outrageous promise: 90 whole grams of premium marine crustacean flesh (harvested from cold Canadian waters) crammed into a brioche bun happening at an inconceivably affordable price. Yet this was once just a lofty romantic concept placed on the back burner for years, until founders Leonard and Chris resurrected it through a flurry of deals with seafood suppliers plus an initial outlay on a tiny shop space in Oxley Tower. From the look of things their F&B wager is paying off, given a sibling brand Chunky Crabs has also since opened for business in China Square as part of ongoing expansion efforts.

It was love at first sight during an incidental stroll past its outlet at The Cathay: diners seen blissfully feasting on rolls bursting at the seams with succulent lobster meat. A cursory glance at the digital menu display made our jaws drop: only $16 for one of those??? Now we were definitely sold, in addition to feeling hot and bothered on account of upsized expectations. Green light to lunch at Chunky Lobsters, yahoo.

But no mee rebus snd ikan bakar. Everything all foreign food nowadays.

So much for the pre-bazaar talk of limiting 'hipster' food.

hanor, people who are faster in everything they do in life do not need to fast - only the slower ones like the m&ds fast, as they need to rama-then to celebrate aidil fitri after they rama-done
