A recent Nielsen survey of 25,000 consumers from 50 countries found that 70 percent of people believe what they read on the internet over opinions found in newspapers, on television, and in magazines. How about you?
Interestingly (though not really surprisingly), the one area that received higher trust ratings than consumer opinions posted online is recommendations from other people, with 90 percent of the respondents saying that they either "completely" or "somewhat" trust information received from people they know. As for the least-trusted news source? Perhaps not surprisingly, that honor goes to cell phone text advertisements.
