</noscript>Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean announced on Sunday that needy families with children attending People’s Action Party Community Foundation (PCF) kindergartens will be eligible for a one—time grant of S$100 to help defray school fees. He was speaking at the graduation concert for PCF Kindergarten 2 students. To qualify, families must have a gross household income of not more than S$2,000. The S$100 will be given out in two tranches — in December this year and June next year. PCF has set aside S$1 million for this scheme. Application forms can be obtained from any PCF centre or downloaded from PCF’s website. Mr Teo said the kindergarten assistance project is in addition to the current assistance provided by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), under the Kindergarten Financial Assistance Scheme (KIFAS).
