There seems to be no end to the reports of racial attacks on Indians. Another Indian was attacked in Australia and the victim has claimed that it was a racial assault.
20-year-old Mir Raza Ali Khan was reportedly attacked by two men in Melbourne on monday, Jun 22 when he was coming out of hair salon.
The youth hailing from Andhra Pradesh said that the two men approached him and demanded for money. Without taking the money, the two men allegedly hit him and fled.
"I was attacked after I walked out of a salon. Two men came and punched me in the face. It was racist attack because they did not take any money. Police came in after 10 minutes," Raza was quoted as saying in a media report.
Police are investigating the case. Khan is now in a hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
This is the 16th case of an alleged racist attacks on Indians in Australia in a month. This report comes even as the Supreme Court of India has asked the government to file an affidavit on the step taken to ensure the safety of Indians abroad. (AFP)
