Mogami Ai, a popular Japanese voice actor and live streamer in her 20s, was stabbed to death today (11 Mar) by an alleged 'anti-fan' while she was streaming on Whowatch in Shinjuku, Tokyo, local media outlets reported on Tuesday. Yomiuri news confirmed that a call was made at around 9:50 AM to report that a woman had been stabbed by a man on the street in Takadanobaba. Officers found that the victim was stabbed in the head, neck and chest. She was taken to the hospital, but was confirmed dead about 80 minutes later.
The report further added that the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect at the scene. The woman, who has been identified as Mogami by local media, was stabbed while she was streaming a video. A clip of her broadcast surfaced on social media, showing the aftermath of Ai being stabbed. Police sirens could be heard in the background.
