Long queues of preschool staff for Covid-19 tests: Poor planning or scheduling issue?

Those online worry about new clusters forming, suggest tests at CCs or PHP Clinics

Singapore – A video circulating online of queues at the Khatib MRT Station of preschool staff waiting for the bus service to take them to their Covid-19 tests is drawing comments about the poor planning involved.

On Friday (May 15), Facebook page All Singapore Stuff had a video of what appeared to about 200 preschool employees queueing for the bus to take them to a facility for their Covid-19 swab tests. It had the caption: “Alamak, how come plan until liddat?”

According to a post by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) on the same day, around 30,000 preschool and early intervention staff are getting a one-time swab test for the virus from May 15 to 26. It said: “The proactive testing is part of our stepped-up monitoring to provide assurance to preschool staff and families to support the phased opening up of general services in the preschool sector.”

There are four designated pickup points for shuttle services to transport the staff to the swabbing centres: Woodlands, Tampines West, Dover and Khatib MRT Station.

However, “a scheduling issue arose for one of the preschool operators”, explained MSF. It added that some staff arrived hours ahead of their scheduled slots, which led to long queues. The ministry encouraged the staff to come only at their assigned appointment slots. “There is no need to arrive much earlier.”

(See, it is always other people's fault, never, never, ever THEIR fault)

Members of the online community responded that the whole initiative had “poor planning” and provided suggestions on how things could have been handled.

One person said there was “no system at all” and others said it would have been better to do the tests at the CCs. This would not have required long journeys and would have reduced the risk of new clusters forming.

They have got shit for brains is it? Test already give the teachers immunity? A false sense of security is what this is and a blatant waste of national resources!

the top high salary leader has no time to look at all these, which they consider lower rank job, leave it to the lower rank.
the one handling this want to boot lick the high salary leader by saving cost and therefore would not conduct disseminate locations like break into CC or schools (which most school are empty now)
sad for all these teachers or in education, the high salary pay leader don't bother to do a good job because.....I a common citizen LL can't do anything not even at the vote box as my zone, walk over.
Wonder if can call for a national referendum to reject non-performing MP and reject high-salary for MPs

Wow, it's as though they were queueing up for Hello Kitty, A&W food or a cheap Huawei phone.

I guess we need to do the same testings for all school teachers soon.

Taking clue from the stringent measures in workplaces, MOE schools will also have to stagger lessons or school days when reopen.

Recall the good old days of morning and afternoon sessions? You effectively bring student population down by half.

Moving forward, classes with smaller number of students should be favored.

Do civil servants have the Checklists ready,if No Checklists, cannot work, sure cockup.

It could daily sessions for P6 and Sec 4/5.
Alternate days or weeks for P1-5 and Sec 1-3.

Just my wild guess.

KNN my uncle think they want to please the tam chia ter nao parents lo KNN

Actually they should just ask OYK to 脱裤子放屁. Those teachers who can smell his fart - covid19 negative. Those who cannot - positive. Save so much money on swab testing.

The testing is no different from 脱裤子放屁, still not immune to the smelly fart!

Remember the good old days of 2-hour kindergarten sessions? Go back home to OTOT eat lunch, do homework, take a nap, play, watch cartoons etc.

Kids these days will never understand or experience the joy of this.

They should do testing by having swabbers down to their preschool centres to test them.
Not teachers gathered then to clinic to test.
To prevent teachers from different preschools mixing around.

Need me to teach ah?
