On 13 July 2012, Xiang'an tunnel monitoring CCTV captured a miraculous screen of a run-away contrainer
truck accident. At about 15:30 pm a container truck traveling on the extreme right lane suddenly swiveled and
smashed into the tunnel wall. This resulted in the container trailer spinning wildly out of control across all lanes
within the tunnel.
Miraculously, an approaching black car was able to squeeze through a gap between the left tunnel wall and the
crushing container and to escape unscarred.
Fortunately, the accident caused no other casualties. The cause of the accident was attributed to container truck's
drive shaft fracture resulting in lost of control.
