it is affordable when you can afford to pay higher insurance premium. Now is time to buy insurance.

friend not to be rude or anything just being straightforward, i know a lot people that earn below 2k. and its just barely enough to meet their ends. asking them to pay just 300 more a month for insurance is not possible. the issue of poverty is very real, imagine people of this group strike by critical illness?

fully agree with this. when u are struggling to make ends meet, to pay your mthly bills, insurance is something like a luxury u cannot afford. these are the ppl that will get KO if they kena some major illnesses. coverage using medisave is too basic. even for class c ward, i think u need to pay the 1st $1000 in cash.
hi there
1. honest, even when sheep are strapped with some insurance coverage.
2. different premium covers different items and respective ceiling and cap.
3. not all sheep can afford what cow can afford.
4. there is no blank coverage.

The only 'affordable' insurance is if you can pay out from your medisave. But wait. The insurance companies have all kinds of tricks not to pay you. First is the co-pay part. Like vehicle insurance, your bill have to hit a minimum amount before you qualify for medishield. No only that, the more expensive plan, the higher the minimum threshold. Medishield also do not cover for outpatient treatment and nowadays, there are plenty of expensive treatment where hospital stay is not needed so no medishield cover. Medishield covers for post hospital treatment, but it is based on renewal date. Lets say its Apr 1. So if you are hospitalized on Mar, you cannot claim for any post hospital treatment after Apr 1. Ask Tan Kim Lian, the man knows all the tricks he knew while he is with NTUC Income.
The rich and the Khaws will get away with our world class health facilities. The poor get panadols while the housemen check if the patient kicked the bucket in the middle of the night.
