http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/viewContent.jsp?id=44850 town council lose too much money in minibond incident. so decided to put this up for xmas decoration this year
Eight umbrellas were seen hanging on this wire between Blocks 617 and 619, Hougang Ave 8, this morning. STOMPer Chin Aun is unimpressed with this prank, because one of the umbrellas fell and nearly hit an old lady. He says:
"These photos were taken this morning.
"There is a wire connecting levels 11 of Block 617 and Block 619, Hougang Ave 8, but it was not originally there when the blocks were built in 1985-86.
"The wire was only added about eight years ago, and no resident knows what purpose it serves.
"Early this morning, someone tried to be funny by opening eight big umbrellas and hanging them along this wire.
"Apparently one of the umbrellas fell from the wire this morning and almost hit an old lady walking downstairs.
"This is a very dangerous prank as the umbrellas sway in the wind and they could be blown downstairs and hit someone.
"They could even end up collecting rainwater when it rains, increasing the possibility of mosquito breeding."
