MINI JCW GP Inspired Edition.

The MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition is now in Singapore.

First conceptualised here, the Inspired Edition draws upon its forebear for its exclusive specification. Added to the package is an exhilarating 228bhp engine, all packaged within the 3 Door hatchback.

The hatchback is currently priced at $199,888 with COE.

RACETRACK FLAIR FOR THE ROAD

The MINI JCW GP Inspired Edition gets a Racing Grey metallic paint finish with contrast Melting Silver metallic for its roof.

Other ties to the MINI JCW GP include the John Cooper Works rear spoiler and mirror caps, bonnet scoop, door handles and fuel lid that are all finished in black.

The 18-inch wheels sport the JCW Cup Spoke design and hub caps with the “GP” logo.

Another unique feature of the Inspired Edition is the 18-inch lightweight forged wheels. These rims sport the John Cooper Works Cup Spoke design and have hub caps bearing the “GP” logo.

The “GP Inspired” lettering can also be found on the doors, air inlet trim and C-pillars.

SPORTY ON THE INSIDE, TOO

Standard equipment for the MINI JCW GP Inspired Edition includes John Cooper Works sports seats at the front. The seats feature the GP badge underneath the integrated headrests.

John Cooper Works steering wheel comes with metal paddle shifters.

Those badges can also be found on the front floor mats. “GP Inspired” lettering is also displayed on the cockpit fascia, while both front and rear velour floor mats have red stitching.

The cabin also features a John Cooper Works leather steering wheel upholstered in Walknappa Leather. It features red stitching, a 3D-printed metal centre marking the 12 o’clock position and metal shift paddles.
Also included are Park Distance Control and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

JCW GP INSPIRED EDITION: EXCITEMENT ON DEMAND

The Inspired Edition is powered by a turbocharged 2-litre 4-cylinder delivering 228bhp and 320Nm. This engine is paired to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

Sports exhaust comes as standard.

Adaptive suspension will help the driver maintain control during dynamic cornering, while a sports exhaust adds acoustic flourish to the car’s sporty character with its hearty soundtrack.

MINI Asia and Eurokars Habitat has launched the all-new MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition. Featuring exclusive specifications, and a 231hp engine that draws inspiration from the third-generation MINI John Cooper Works GP.

The MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition was announced today by MINI Asia and Eurokars Habitat. It's specially developed for fans that missed out on the original John Cooper Works GP that came out in June last year. This edition will be exclusively available in a limited run.

Exterior

The MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition basically shares a similar paint job and design as the original John Cooper Works GP. It is wrapped in Racing Grey metallic for the body and the contrast colour Melting Silver metallic for the roof.

The similar design cues are given to the rear spoiler, mirror caps, black engine bonnet scoop, black door handles and black fuel lid.

The MINI's Piano Black headlight surrounds the blackened inner parts for the adaptive LED headlights and rear lights, as well as the black MINI logo on the cap and tailgate, all of which serve as additional highlights.

A unique “GP Inspired” lettering distinguishes the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition from its predecessor. It can be found on the two side doors, on the air inlet trim and the C-pillar of the hatchback.

Comfort is not an issue as the GP Inspired Edition includes John Cooper Works sports seats in a Dinamica/leather combination. As you enter the MINI, you see the GP badge on both the integrated headrest and on the floor mats.

Even the leather wheel of the John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition is unique. It comes covered in Walknappa leather with red stitching and a stylish 3D printed metal centre marking. The metal shift paddles of the steering wheel come with the 3D-printed logo as well.

The MINI John Cooper Works Inspired Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. MINI says that the engine boasts breathtaking performance qualities including extreme agility, a high degree of steering precision, and immaculate handling.
MINI also claimed that it'll provide pure driving fun; with its 320NM of maximum torque, a top speed of 246km/h and acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.

Singapore. MINI Asia and Eurokars Habitat today announced the launch of the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition in Singapore. This special model draws upon the mettle of its forebear, the third-generation MINI John Cooper Works GP, and features exclusive specifications and an exhilarating 231 hp engine in the quintessential 3 Door hatchback.

Mr Kidd Yam, Head of MINI Asia, said, “We received overwhelming response for the MINI John Cooper Works GP when we introduced the car in June last year. As such, we’ve specially developed the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition to cater for fans who weren’t able to get their hands on the original, but still want to own a unique piece of motorsports history. This special edition was first conceptualised in Singapore, and will also be launched in selected markets in the Southeast Asian region in the coming weeks.”

Mr Yam continued, “MINI has a longstanding history in motor racing, and the John Cooper Works range draws on this experience to bring authentic racetrack flair to the road. The design elements of the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition were derived directly from the development process of the MINI John Cooper Works GP. Racing Grey metallic for the body and the contrast colour Melting Silver metallic for the roof, as well as the John Cooper Works rear spoiler and mirror caps adorn both models. Together with the black engine bonnet scoop, black door handles and black fuel lid, these features now highlight the intimate relationship between the two extreme athletes.

The MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition is fitted as standard with 18-inch lightweight forged wheels in the John Cooper Works Cup Spoke design with runflat tyres. In a callback to the original model, the hub caps on the light alloy wheels bear the GP logo. The Piano Black headlight surrounds and the blackened inner parts for the adaptive LED headlights and rear lights, the black MINI logo on the bonnet and tailgate serve as additional highlights. The MINI John Cooper Works models possess breathtaking performance qualities including extreme agility, a high degree of steering precision, and immaculate handling. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology in the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition transforms the 3-door MINI into the epitome of pure driving fun in the premium segment of small cars. The 320 Nm of maximum torque ensures plenty of pulling power, while the adaptive suspension keeps the driver feeling in total control especially during dynamic cornering. The sports exhaust system adds an acoustic flourish to the car’s sporty character with its hearty soundtrack.

The 8-speed Steptronic transmission is operated via a model-specific electronic gear selector switch. Manual intervention in gear selection is also possible using the standard shift paddles on the steering wheel for particularly spirited driving. For day-to-day use, the Steptronic sports transmission also caters for coasting in MID and GREEN mode. The auto start/stop function incorporates navigation and front camera data in its operation for smarter operation – for example, if the car detects that the vehicle is stopping briefly before making a turn or entering a roundabout, or if the traffic ahead has started moving again, the engine will not be switched off.

Segment-leading technology .

The MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition sees many premium features fitted as standard such as Park Distance Control in the front and rear, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. A particularly useful feature is the MINI Head-Up Display – this helps the driver concentrate on what is happening on the road by displaying relevant information right in the driver's line of vision. As such, pertinent driving information can be seen quickly and conveniently without the driver having to take his eyes off the road.

The Driving Assistant package is also fitted as standard. This package incorporates a camera-based system that recognises and reports speed limits, thereby increasing safety on the road. A digital high-beam assistant with Adaptive LED Matrix Headlights is also particularly useful when travelling at night in areas that are not well-lit. The collision warning and pedestrian warning systems with city braking function make it easier to avoid dangerous situations, particularly in city traffic. The Parking Assistant offers maximum comfort in searching for and using parking spaces, while the reversing camera gives drivers a better view when manoeuvring.

Other innovations in the Driving Assistant package include the camera-based speed and distance control – these help the driver automatically keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front, and the speed limit information system detects and displays speed limits as they apply to the current section of road. This system is supplemented by the no passing display and traffic sign memory functions. The digital headlight assist function contributes to optimum visual conditions when driving at night. Oncoming traffic and preceding vehicles are registered by a camera, while automatic switching to dimmed headlights avoids causing a nuisance for other drivers.

MINI Connected.

The standard-fitted MINI Connected application on the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition offers an exceptionally wide range of digital services that allow seamless integration of the car into the driver’s day-to-day digital routine.

• The Real Time Traffic Information service provides the latest traffic information so that drivers can spot and bypass traffic bottlenecks on their journey. It also improves the accuracy of estimated travelling time based on the traffic conditions on the route taken.
• ‘Weather’ and ‘News’ vehicle apps provide information and entertainment throughout the journey, and drivers can even request for the car to read out the latest news.
• The Natural Language Understanding feature enables drivers to operate certain functions of the car by speaking, and the system has a processing speed of just a few seconds.
• Teleservices by MINI delivers greater convenience and efficient servicing processes. As soon as a service is required, the service-related data is automatically transferred to the MINI Centre via the Automatic Teleservice Call. A representative will retrieve this data, analyse it, and contact the driver to arrange a service or maintenance appointment.
• The Remote Services function is particularly useful when the driver is not near the car. For example, if he isn’t sure that the windows are fully closed or if the doors are locked, all he needs to do is to check the status on the MINI Connected smartphone app (available for Apple and Android devices). The car doors can be remotely locked and unlocked via the app. On a particularly hot day, the driver is also able to cool down the car by switching on the air ventilation function via the app well before he gets to the driver’s seat. Other useful information such as the car’s fuel level is also reflected on the app.
• For greater peace of mind, the Intelligent Emergency Call function comes in handy for quick emergency assistance at the push of a button. If the driver gets into an accident or sees a vehicle that needs immediate help, a call is made directly to the BMW Group Call Centre with key data from the car, such as the exact location as well as the status of the airbags and front seat belts. If necessary, the system can even make the call automatically.
