<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->RECENTLY, several Nanyang Technological University (NTU) students who were on an exchange programme in Mexico were recalled amid the outbreak of Influenza A (H1N1).
While a seven-day quarantine is presumably in effect for those with a local home address, what about foreign students who call the campus dormitories home?
How would a home quarantine be enforced in school dorms, and does NTU have sufficient checks and safeguards in place to minimise any possible H1N1 spread to other students?
The school is currently conducting Special Term classes, and with the amount of human traffic, possible viral transmission could occur if affected students come into contact with one another and with members of the public.
I urge NTU to be transparent and to issue a swift reply to ensure peace of mind. Jason Koh
