Low Poh Seng, 52

The process quality engineer left his job at an educational institution in March for a change in environment and better prospects.
He has more than 10 years' experience as a process quality engineer and has handled projects in various countries.
He wants a job in quality or supply management in the manufacturing sector.
He holds a degree in engineering from Leeds Polytechnic in England, Britain.
HE SAYS
'My principle is that quality cannot be compromised. I believe that experience comes with age and I know my field very well.
I've sent out more than 100 applications but there hasn't been any opportunities.'
HR EXPERT RECOMMENDS
Mr Victor Lim, consulting manager of Kelly Engineering Resources
'Poh Seng's strengths are in quality systems and processes. He's been in a few sectors and I believe he has a good track record with the companies.
I would advise him to look at the medical equipment and telecommunication sectors where the industries are sustainable and still actively hiring.
He can also consider lecturing positions in polytechnics, or conduct training in consultancy firms because of his extensive industry experience in quality systems.'
