年龄介于21岁至36岁的千禧一代对购屋置业最有企图心，超过一半已拥有一间房子，这些屋主当中有24％拥有多间房子。
汇丰银行（HSBC）对全球10个经济体的超过1万人进行了主题为“房子的价值”的调查，了解他们对拥屋和房贷的态度，新加坡的受访者有1000人。
调查显示，千禧一代对拥屋最有企业心。54％的新加坡受访者已是屋主，24％屋主拥有多间房子。相较之下，54岁及以上的婴儿潮一代只有17％是屋主，年龄介于37至53岁的X世代也只有19％是屋主。
另外，43％未购屋者有意在未来拥有一间或更多房子，这个比率是所有年龄层当中最高的，当中74％有意把第二间房子用作投资。
汇丰银行新加坡零售银行与财富管理服务部主管阿努拉格（Anurag Mathur）说：“这项研究颠覆了千禧一代爱花未来钱和只作短期规划的既定印象。他们对未来投资有很清楚的方向。”
同时，屋主多对未来房产价值寄予厚望。79％屋主预料他们的房子价格会上扬，关于这一点所有年龄层的看法相近。
受访者（屋主和非屋主）则只有73％认为未来房子会增值，当中又以千禧一代最乐观，有76％受访者认为未来房子会增值，婴儿潮一代只有33％如此认为。
房贷方面，千禧一代屋主花五年时间存到房子订金，婴儿潮一代和X世代分别需要六年和七年。另外，47％千禧一代每年至少会查询屋子价值一次，也比其他年龄层更常转换房贷供应者。
阿努拉格总结道，千禧一代是数码一代，在财务方面也比较精明。房地产投资者通过科技能够更容易研究和追踪房贷。因此，房贷提供者必须提供更透明、具竞争性和多元化的选择，以满足他们的需求。”
这项调查是于去9月至10月之间进行。
