The images from inside the entertainer's room in a Los Angeles mansion showed a dozen oxygen tanks stacked near his bed, an IV stand and bottles of Propofol, the powerful anaesthetic that was found in his system. Other bottles carried labels for drugs including lorazepam, diazepam and lidocaine.
Some of Jackson's embroidered jackets could be seen hanging in a cupboard, and covers and cushions were strewn across his bed. There were baby photos on a beside table, and a large kitchen knife on another stand.
Attached to Jackson's bedside table was a banner reading "sweet baby". There was also a card with a small picture of Charlie Chaplin.
The pictures also showed a list of 24 hour pharmacies found inside the car of Dr Conrad Murray, Jackson's physician who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter over his death.
The images were police exhibits in Murray's trial in 2011 and were released by the Los Angeles Police Department as Jackson's family is in the process of suing his concert promoter AEG Live.
Jackson's mother Katherine alleges the promoter and its top executives failed to properly investigate Murray, who administered a lethal dose of Propofol to the singer before his death on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50.
Katherine Jackson claims AEG missed warning signs about her son's failing health, which the company denies. The trial is in its seventh week, with AEG Live chief executive Randy Phillips on the witness box. Jackson's children Prince and Paris are listed as potential witnesses.
On June 5 paramedics were dispatched to the home of Paris, 15, flowing a report that she had taken pills and cut herself with a kitchen knife.
She was taken to hospital on a stretcher and a family lawyer later said she was physically fine".
