Michael Jackson is allegedly suffering from a suberbug skin infection, inflaming his hands and face. The 50-year-old pop superstar is receiving antibiotics via an IV drip at a Beverly Hills clinic, to treat the severe “staph” infection, similar to MRSA, The UK Sun reports. MSRA expert Mark Enright told them:

“Michael Jackson has a severe staph infection that he contracted during work to reconstruct his nose. “

And Michael Jackson’s nose might collapse.

According to the Sun, the MSRA expert said Jackson should get treatment immediately as he is suffering from a severe “staph” infection which is resistant to antibiotics. Enright, professor in Imperial College, London, said: “A wound infection like MRSA on a delicate area like the nose could cause the tissue to collapse.”

Pain with being the King of Pop.

Because of accidents, a string of plastic surgeries and the sheer intensity of his dancing, physical agony was the unshakable problem with being Michael Jackson - a situation that may have led to his dependence on painkillers and prescription medicine.

There was the famous incident in Los Angeles in 1984 when Jackson's hair caught fire during the shooting of a Pepsi commercial. He was hospitalized for four days with a burned scalp.

Then, in the early 1990s, Jackson's dermatologist revealed the singer had a skin disorder known as vitiligo, which leads to white patches on the skin.

And over the years, Jackson underwent numerous plastic surgeries, the most prominent being the narrowing of his nose. Few people know exactly how many procedures there were in all.

Jackson was renowned for his choreographical perfection. Ailments were, or at least began as, a by-product of his dedication.

In 1990, he was hospitalized with chest pains. In 1993, he canceled a performance due to dehydration and later cut his tour short because of his painkiller addiction. In 1995, he collapsed on stage at the Beacon Theater in New York and was hospitalized.

Then there was London. Mounting a comeback, the 50-year-old pop icon was to perform a staggering 50 shows, the first in mid-July.

It was a schedule so daunting that Jackson was training with Lou Ferrigno, the star of TV's "Incredible Hulk," to build up his strength and stamina.

Those involved in the production said Jackson had hired a personal trainer and was practicing with dancers and choreographers several hours a day.

That a performer with such a history of pain was attempting such an ambitious and grueling comeback was, some said, a collision course. Michael Levine, a publicist for Jackson in the early 1990s, called the stresses on Jackson "a toxic mix that nobody can withstand."

Long before Michael Jackson died, pop star looked barely alive

Michael Jackson's death came as a shock yesterday - but to some, the real surprise was that he made it to 50.

For much of his adult life, he seemed to be disintegrating before our eyes - gaunt, pale, in a wheelchair or bandaged from yet another surgery.

He battled an addiction to painkillers and could barely sit up straight at times during his 2005 child molestation trial.

The London Sun said Jackson's collapse yesterday came after injecting Demerol.

The Jackson family lawyer, Brian Oxman, said he warned the pop star about his misuse of prescription drugs.

"I have warned that one day Michael Jackson would wake up dead, and that I would not be silent if that was the case, because of the misuse of medications. I have made that statement to family members and I told them I would not be still," he said last night outside UCLA Medical Center.

The star suffered cardiac arrest, a condition that can lead to death if not treated within five minutes, according to doctors.

"Cardiac arrest refers broadly to when your heart just no longer pumps blood," said Dr. Jeffrey Moses, director of the center for interventional vascular therapy at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia. In most cases, the heart beats so chaotically it stops functioning, leading to unconsciousness. Sometimes it gets extremely weak and quivers uselessly.

Last month, promoters assured a skeptical press that Jackson was robust after the first dates of his comeback tour were postponed. London newspapers reported he had skin cancer. "There's nothing going on with his health," said Randy Phillips of promoter AEG Live.

The assurances clashed with photos of Jackson - his face covered by a surgical mask - that suggested a mystery malady.

Last July, photographers snapped his children rolling him through a Las Vegas bookstore in a wheelchair, clad in the costume of a convalescent: pajamas and slippers.

It was never completely clear what ailed Jackson, who was badly burned during the filming of a Pepsi commercial in 1984.

Denying reports he bleached his skin, he insisted he had vitiligo, a pigmentation disorder. He admitted to only two plastic surgeries, but experts speculated he had repeatedly gone under the knife and that his nose had been permanently damaged.

He got hooked on prescription pills - including Xanax and painkillers - and his family reportedly flew to his home in Bahrain for an intervention.

He made at least one trip to rehab, and in 2007 admitted in a sworn deposition that four years earlier he was often - but not always - "impaired" by pill popping.

"It comes and goes, not all of the waking hours," he told a lawyer for his former manager.

A long list of health problems often held up Jackson's 2005 trial on child molestation charges - and created a crazy court spectacle. The pop star threw up on the way to court for jury selection, was rushed to the emergency room for back problems and showed up wearing pajamas.

Michael Jackson's body will be taken to his Neverland Ranch on Thursday morning for a public viewing Friday, CNN has learned.

A private memorial service is scheduled for Sunday at Neverland.

A copy of Michael Jackson's will has finally made it into the hands of the Jackson family.

Planning is under way for a 30-car motorcade carrying Jackson's remains to leave the Los Angeles area at 10 a.m. for Santa Barbara County, California, on Thursday, a source said.

The question of where Jackson will be buried remains unanswered.

The singer's hometown of Gary, Indiana, is asking the family to send him there, according to the mayor's spokeswoman.

Gary Mayor Rudy Clay has been in contact with the Jackson family, hoping to make that happen, spokeswoman Lalosa Burns said Tuesday.
