BS! trying to present himself as from humble beginning.Queenstown technical is considered one of the better schools in that area.

For those not familiar with Pai Kia schools around queenstown area, I can list all of them.

1. Tanglin Tech (grey pants white shirt)
2. Queensway Sec Sch (Maroon pants white shirt)
3. New Town Sec Sch (light blue shirt;and white pants)
4. Mei Chin Sec sch (green pants white shirt)
5. Commonwealth Sec Sch (Navy blue pants white shirt)
6. Queenstown tech (navy blue pants white shirt)

( not include Bukit Merah and Ghim Moh side.)
Among the schools, Queenstown Tech and New Town are the better ones. Tanglin Tech is somewhere in between or paikias with quite better grades.

The rest are training schools for pai kias. Queensway sec also notorious for underage mimah mums.
 
You can tell the guy is desperate to exaggerate his rags to success story by the derogatory language he uses to describe his alumni. He is already 72, that would mean his school days were nearly 60 years ago in the late 1950s to early 1960s - a time before the Republic of Singapore was even in existence. In that era, being able to attend a technical school would be considered above average.

Granted he may not have come from an elite background, but would someone with any sense of candidness and moral decency describe what was then a credible technical school in that era as "gangster-infested"? Give me a break.

How do one define "gangster infested"...the Building along North Bridge, called 'The Parliament' is also 'gangster infested'..sic!.
He the Grp CEO of Changi Airport..now CONSTRUCTING T5....what achievement is that...that why he is given the task...why not ealier ..constructing Changi Airport from the beginning, then to T2 to....then we can really look at him coming from a low status school & environment...and say " He made it"...but those glories were given to those from elite schools..

Nope, he's just a non-executive Chairman of CAG, not Group CEO which is a full time executive position. He most likely won't be involved in the T5 project in any meaningful way.

Most non-executive directors only attend 4-5 meetings a year to agree on accounts, CXO appointments and broad strategy presented by the management. Being a Chair usually entails a few additional duties like setting the meeting agenda and attending occasional PR cut ribbon or corporate social responsibility photo ops. I reckon his annual commitments to CAG won't be more than 50 hours out of which maybe less than 10 hours or so is related to T5.

I will believe in meritocracy when the ministers start sending their children to Neighbourhood school.
 
Maybe his wife went to RGS and RJC. Sure must have elite blood to be chairman.
 
Absolute meritocracy! Chairman at 72 years old. Dubious meritocracy would be being a full minister within 2 years of being elected as an MP for the first time ever? Hope it didn't happen in our million dollars cabinet ministers. Long live PAP!

my uncle say KNN he was from 1 you listed but he say he not pai kia but he beaten by pai kia.
my uncle also say buona vista sec sch in jjc type of color.
