US drag NATO into middle east and purposely used eastern european countries to provoke russia to bring it back to life. It worked.
Russia was never invited to join the EU.
US and UK does not want a united europe that threatens anglo saxon hegemony. They succeeded.

Russia ditched communism when soviet collapsed.
They are probably wary of putin because of the assassination of anti putin leaders overseas. Not sure whethers its made up or for real.
