Frankly speaking, what do common people gain from a buoyant economic growth?

More competition from FT, higher property price, higher inflation, higher transport fare, higher ERP, lower medical subsidy and more million dollar minister.

Fuck the PAP.

Sincere wish for total economic collapse this year.

We should implement means testing for government ministers.
If their net worth is 8 figures, they should give back their salaries to jumpstart the economy and help the poor.
If they want to be government ministers, they need to have an altruistic mindset and not be motivated by money.

Why do the poor need to be helped in the first place? If they can't make ends meet, it's their own damned problem. There's absolutely no reason why they should be entitled to a free lunch!

"Helping the poor" makes for a great motherhood statement but in reality, all it does is breed a culture of welfare dependency that no country can afford.

If ministers have excess cash, they should be handing it over to successful entrepreneurs in the form of grants so they can grow their business further or use the cash as working capital during these hard times. Giving the money to the losers of society does no good for anyone whatsoever.

I said both to jumpstart the economy (perhaps grants for businessmen) and to give the poor.
I'm not in favour of giving money to losers who want to buy a car instead of taking the bus or to old and rude people who were gamblers and drinkers in their youth and are now paying the price. The money will be meant for good decent people who due to some misfortune, illness or other valid reasons, are struggling to survive through no fault if their own. Eg. old ladies who are still doing cleaning jobs.
