Kuala Lumpur, March 17 (Bernama) -- A representative from the Media Development Authority (MDA) Singapore is in town, seeking potential cooperation with local production houses and producers.
MDA's chief information officer Yeo Chun Cheng said any Malaysian production house, interested in programmes that can be broadcast in both countries, is welcome to negotiate.
"I think the developments in Malaysia with regards to programmes is very interesting. I see good potential. Perhaps we can undertake greater collaboration between Malaysia and Singapore.
"This will actually benefit both countries. So I'm looking forward to discussions," he told Bernama on the sidelines of the Creative Industry Conference here today.
Yeo said a similarity in culture and language provided benefits in both countries working together.
"Programmes produced can be screened on both sides of the causeway. We also have an international media fund based in Singapore and basically it can assist companies with good ideas," he added.
He said there are more than 10 Malaysian companies undertaking programmes with Singapore.
Amongst the programme collaboration between Malaysia and Singapore is the Muzik Extravaganza (variety), Dimensi ke-4 (drama), Hantu Raya (telemovie) and Aksi Gerek (info-education).
