I read with interest, the obituary of Robert Mcnamara, former US Secretary of Defence and architect of the Vietnam war. This chap was undoubtedly one of the top talents in the business world, and a very smart guy. He pioneered the field of statistically analysis and applied it to increase efficiency in logistics, economics, and manufacturing fields. He taught this statistical analysis to US army supply and logistics personnel during WW2, was a econs professor at UC Berkeley, and became the CEO of Ford where he turned around the car company with this expertise. he gave up $3 million in salary, bonuses, and stock options to work for JFK as the Secretary of defence (and the measly salary of $25,000 per year) because he felt it was a higher calling to go into public service and apply his same talent. Whether he was successful or not, is besides the point. the fact that he did this is a damning indictment of the corrupt PAP who say u need millions of dollars to attract talent. If its for a good cause, people will do it for much less, as in McNamara's case, because they believe that money is not everything. McNamara believe also in JFK, that this was a visionary leader, and charismatic person. The PAP have no one like this. There is no one in the PAP that inspire people to strive for public office. Its just gay sons, fugly wives, sycophants, arsekissers, etc. that inhabit the halls of power. Bloody pathetic.
