MBS fined S$475,000 for surveillance breaches

SINGAPORE: Marina Bay Sands has been fined $475,000 for contravening Casino Control (Surveillance) Regulations.
The Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) of Singapore said the surveillance breaches occurred during the periods between 14 September 2011 and 12 April 2012, and 17 December 2011 and 14 June 2012.
In one incident, the CRA said MBS was fined S$225,000 for not having a failure notification system to provide an audio, as well as visual notification of specific failures in the casino surveillance system.
In another incident, MBS was fined S$150,000 for failing to ensure that specified casino surveillance footage during the period between 14 September 2011 and 12 April 2012 was retained for the period required by CRA.
MBS was also fined S$100,000 for failing to ensure continuous recording of specified casino surveillance footage during the period between 17 December 2011 and 14 June 2012.
