A FORMER postman described as the mastermind behind credit card thefts from SingPost was jailed for 13 months on Friday.
Malaysian Mohd Fauzee A. Hamid, 25, admitted to five counts of conspiring with two other Malaysian postmen to steal credit cards at Woodlands and Kallang regional bases between last September and April this year.
His two accomplices, Mohd Feerdauz Nazman, 28, and Mohd Hud Haron, 27, were jailed 10 months and 12 months respectively last week for theft.
Before Fauzee quit SingPost in September last year, he befriended Feerdauz at Woodlands Regional Base.
He knew that Feerdauz was responsible for sorting out credit card mails and schemed with him to steal credit cards and make purchases in Malaysia, sell the goods and split the proceeds.
Fauzee had also similarly conspired with Hud to steal credit cards at Kallang Regional Base. Fauzee is the fifth former postal worker to have been convicted in recent months.
