Holding Mass Prayer Could Increase Success Rate of Space Missions, Study Finds

A recent study conducted by the Failure Analysis Committee (FAC) of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) found that holding mass prayer prior to launching rocket could increase the success rate of space missions in India.

The 25-member FAC chaired by Dr. Ramakrishna, Director of ISRO, with the participation of experts from other academic and research institutions, has reviewed the performance of past Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) missions from 2001 to 2010 before reaching into a conclusion.

“Science works in mysterious ways,” said Dr. Ramakrishna, an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateshwara, in his official statement.

“GSLV has accomplished seven launches to date, in which only three launches were successful. As majority of our launches have failed, we had to sit back and find out logical reasons behind the failures.”

According to the Scientists at ISRO, the GSLV is a three-stage launch vehicle with the first stage being solid-propelled, the second cryogenic fuel propelled (liquid) and the third stage is propelled by mass prayers (gas).

“After the initial failure of the developmental flight in 2001, we have identified Prayer Boosters, a mythical component that believed to control the thrust of liquid engines used in the strap-on stages as very important for the flight,” said Dr. Ramakrishna in his report. “All the evidences so far pointing to the importance of mass prayers and blessings of Lord Venkateshwara for the proper functioning of the Prayer Boosters.”

Many consider Lord Venkateshwara, who wears a rocket-shaped headgear, as the patron God of Rocket Science in India. Dr. Ramakrishna, who visits the Tirupati temple to seek divine blessings ahead of every satellite launch, said why God blesses PSLV missions but fails GSLV rockets is beyond his understanding.

“Obviously, God has a plan about our Rockets,” added Dr. Ramakrishna.

The study found that successful Rocket launch always correlated with successful mass prayer conducted before and during the launch by devoted Scientists at the ISRO. The FAC report has also criticized the involvement of few non-believing technicians and staff members for the failure of earlier missions.

“Rationalism should not be allowed to prevail over the spirituality-based traditional scientific research in India,” the report warned.

As per the latest reports, the agency is arranging for a special pooja in the ISRO’s Sriharikota campus in June 2013 before the launch of the next-generation GSLV rocket, and has requested scientists and patriotic citizens to join the pooja and mass prayer for the success of the mission.

What GOD they praying to?

Everyone likes to say God this, God that, but then what God? Whose God?

The word GOD should be deleted from the dictionary, for it means different thing to different people.

So does "Happiness" and probably another few thousand word. Want to delete them too?

To each their own.
