MAS, AIA, Lehman, DBS, Minibond, High Note 5, etc - Protest at Speaker's Corner??

Due to the numerous threads in this forum and threats from the collapse of various banks in USA and the impending implosion of AIG if the bailout fails, Makapaaa had posted a couple of important news-clips about those affected by the collapse of Lehman Bros and how the HK regulators had taken a pro-active action plan to assist affected parties to recover the loss or at least an attempt to get to the bottom of this matter.

However, there have been quiet complants that MAS has not been taking a more pro-active approach to assure and to handle complaints from those affected by this on-going financial crisis.

As the situation is very fragile right now in the USA, with the bailout plan been hammered out just today, the market is still very soft and precarious.

For those affected parties, is there a protest organized at Speaker's Corner to vocalize their concerted anger, complaints, grieve, doubts, confusiion, misgivings? It would certainly be a appropriate platform, rather than camping out at MAS and looking like refugees there.

I am surprised that no one protests in this country even though there is a Speaker's Corner, while in Hong Kong, without such a venue, aggrieved parties are marching and protesting to the regulators for more action.

Anyone knows if those affected parties are planning for a protest at Speaker's Corner or not? Why are the ruling party, oppostion and alternative parties just as deadly silent on this matter?

Everyone involved just take pay but when it comes to accountability and actionable intelligence, all don't seem to know how to solve this present crisis' problems, isn't it.

Everyone involved just hoping for the best and that this crisis will quietly blow away, isn't it?

What are the general sentiments and viewpoints? Let's hear them.

The regime is more concerned whether the GDP figures will cast a pall over their bonuses, the lehman bastards scam is simply fools' games for greedy peasants, they will do nothing.

Let's say, hypothetically, that Tan Kin Lian did not stage the rally at Speaker's Corner and it is a fact that protest away from such designated places are illegal, what do you think would have transpired?

I read with amusement that the Head of Consumer banking of DBS, someone by the name of Ramesh, I think, who said that 11 people turned up at DBS another day after the first session at the Speakers' Corner and it is reported that he relished it and he was ready for them and ushered these 11 aggrieved parties to the auditorium for a tea-session. Police and plain-clothes undercover were also present at the vicinity and near-by.

Well, the point is this. Shouldn't DBS or Ramesh have taken a more pro-active approach and invited all affected investors to its auditorium rather than wait for them to march to its head office and definitely not wait for a leader Tan Kin Lian to initiate a focus rally to help these aunties and uncles affected by the Minibonds fiasco?

To reported that Ramesh was ready....I wonder if he was ready for what? Ready for one of his guys to tell one of the investors to go fly a kite?
