IT'S home to Singapore's newest casino, convention centre and hotel. And as some unhappy drivers have pointed out, it's also home to Singapore's most expensive carpark.
At least until recently.
The New Paper learnt that the recently-opened Marina Bay Sands (MBS), which operates the 800-lot Sands Expo and Convention Centre carpark, has since revised its charges.
The new fees are $8 for the first hour, and $2 for every hour after that. Parking is also capped at $28 for a 24-hour period.
Previously, parking was at $8 an hour from 7am to midnight. Overnight parking was charged at a flat fee of $8.
When asked, MBS declined to comment on why they revised their fees and whether the fee cap existed before the revision.
MBS, Singapore's second integrated resort which opened on Tuesday to much fanfare, had some Singaporeans crying foul over its parking charges.
Online forums are abuzz with comments about the cost of parking at the resort.
On popular forum, fuckwarezone.com, one netizen advised visitors to 'leave their cars at home'.

IT manager Mr Gerald Yong, 32, told The New Paper that the original rate of $8 an hour was 'ridiculously expensive'.
Mr Yong does not plan to visit the casino, but looks forward to attending conventions at MBS.
'I'd rather park somewhere cheaper and walk a short distance over,' he said.
