Some are still roaming inside mega cleanrooms...SINGAPORE: Remember when robots roamed around food courts collecting your used crockery?
Many of these robots have since disappeared. Some have been converted to tray-collection stations, with only a "smart tray return" label on their side indicating their mobile past.

厉害国出厉害人。新加玻人大部分头脑太简单。知其利而不知其害。With the gov everyday trumpeting SMART nation, follow AI or else you get excluded blah blah, many inadvertently fallen into circus and thought by following all these they are ahead of the rest. In the end, their face got smacked when facing the reality.天天被中国人骗。

All the major food court operators had a hard time recruiting, training and keeping the existing food handlers. I guess all the bosses soon realized that instead of helping to reduce the workload of current employees, which is what the gadget Supplier promised, these gadgets actually increase their workload like making sure they're fully charged every day, calling the HelpDesk if any of this gadget malfunction etc.Koufu, which operates a chain of food courts, coffee shops and eateries across Singapore, told CNA that the tray-return robots were supplied by one of its cleaning companies. None of the robots are in use at any Koufu outlet currently.
A spokesperson declined to comment on why it stopped using the robot, but said the company was "always exploring automation to increase productivity".
Chang Cheng Group did not reply to CNA's queries on the issue.
Four other major food court operators – NTUC Foodfare, Kopitiam, Food Junction and Food Republic – said they have not used roving tray-return robots.
