Manchester City are preparing to break the bank to land Cristiano Ronaldo according to internet reports.

The cash-rich Premier League side are said to be putting together an eye-watering financial package that will offer Real Madrid a world record-equalling £80m for the player, and Ronaldo himself wages of between £400k and £500k-a-week.

City owner Sheik Mansour is known to be a big admirer of the Portuguese star and has shown interest in bringing him back to the Premier League before.

Agree. It takes 2 things to make CR7 good.

1. A manager that is fully in control, just like SAF and JM. SAF I don't have to say anymore. JM had full control in RM where past managers failed to have. He even ousted the pesky Director of football who interfere with his work. Look at Mancini. On the surface, he looked like he is in total control. Just look at Balotelli and Tevez.

2. There is a very good article in soccernet that compares Messi and CR7. Barca built the team AROUND Messi while RM built the team FOR CR7. It was the same when he was in MUFC. SAF built the entire team to cater to him. Any manager who fails to do that, can see him rotting away.

only 80m pounds ??!!

Man City should offer half of Abu Dhabi's oil reserves for Ronaldo !

500K pound a week in wages ???!!

Man City should pay him that much a day !

Why are they going for Ronaldo instead of Messi? is it because they know that they cannot get the latter?

Gossips from news tabloids to generate interest in readership that never materialize.

And don't join clubs like City who are only wannabes. I don't want to see Manchester City in the Champions League who only serves as punching bag for football critics to degrade English clubs.

Indeed. Such clubs are in the Champions League only because they have tons of money. Without their sugar daddies, they are nothing. No culture, no tradition, nothing.
