Meng Ge’s 17-year-old son, Li, is one of five suspects charged with raping a woman in February. Li is the son of Li Shuangjiang, a 72-year-old popular military singer.
Meng had earlier petitioned for a public hearing of the case which was rejected by a Beijing court last month.
She filed an official complaint with Beijing Public Security Bureau on Tuesday, accusing Zhang Guangyao, reportedly the bar manager, for pimping and extortion.
Zhang was allegedly the manager at the Beijing bar where Li and his friends picked up a girl and took her to a hotel where they raped her.
Meng accused Zhang of facilitating prostitution and extortion. It has been suggested that the bar manager and the victim’s family tried to reach Li’s family to settle the case in private, but failed in their attempt.
Earlier this week, a person who claimed to be familiar with the case told The Beijing Times that Li was the first to commit the crime.
The paper reported that Li and his friends forced the victim, surnamed Yang, who was heavily drunk, into a hotel room. They had checked into the hotel with the identity card of another person.
After Yang refused to remove her clothes, she was beaten up and stripped by the five. Li was reportedly the first to rape the girl while the others took turns. None of them used a condom. Yang was given 2,000 yuan and left by the roadside.
The report said Yang was a 23-year-old native of Hebei Province and worked as a secretary in an advertisement company. She worked part time at the bar and made extra cash from tips. The bar manager Zhang had asked Yang to entertain Li and his friends.
Li’s lawyer Lan He refused to comment on the report.
