Man who molested daughter to get 27 months jail, cane

A man who molested his daughter when she was between nine and 16 years old was jailed for outrage of modesty and moneylending-related offences.
The 45-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the victim's identity, pleaded guilty to eight charges of molestation and helping a loanshark in carrying on his business.
The court heard that the accused started molesting the victim in 2003 when she was nine. He molested her the following year. In 2010, she informed her mother what he had done. A police report was made.
The victim told a senior consultant with the Child Guidance Clinic that she felt embarrassed, sad and disgusted about what her father had done to her. She also felt disturbed and troubled.
