Man uses baby to beg for money
The man is enjoying a meal, leaving his baby unattended in a polyfoam box on his right
The cardboard had the words: "(This) husband and wife have a baby girl, due to poverty and bad harvest, (we) don't have money to buy milk powder, please help." In fact, the man is not poor. He was seen enjoying a "lavish" meal by a woman, who reported it to Wuhan Evening News, on Monday.
She said the man was eating meat and drinking a bottle of alcoholic beverage by the side of the baby, but he did not pay any attention to the daughter. When a reporter arrived at the street where the man - in his 40s was reported to be begging for money - he was still eating the food. A hawker nearby told the daily that the father had been drinking for over an hour, starting from around 2pm.
An urban management officer, who also saw that, asked the father to leave and urged him to be good to the baby but the latter told him off. Then, the father continued eating his meal. The reporter observed that whenever the public give the baby money, the father would quickly stuff the notes into his pocket, leaving the coin box empty wo that people would think he had no received money.
