PETALING JAYA - A Sabah man was so tied up in his business engagements that he took 10 days to claim RM47.5 million (S$18.6 million) from the Supreme Toto 6/58 Jackpot.
The 50-something, who is involved in the construction business, said his lucky number was from one of the Lucky Pick tickets displayed at the sales counter of a Toto outlet.
A Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd statement said the man usually picks some Lucky Pick tickets displayed at Toto sales counters besides choosing his own favourite numbers.
He found out about his winning number from a newspaper a day after the draw.
“On his plans, the man said he would use part of the money to help the different ethnic groups in his community besides helping his family and his employees,” the statement said.
It also said three Toto jackpots totalling more than RM50mil were won in the middle of this month, of which RM47.5mil was won by the businessman.
A female administrator from Pahang won RM2.7mil in the Mega Toto 6/52 Jackpot 1.
The single woman, who is in her 30s, said she bought her winning ticket in Ipoh during a trip with her siblings.
Besides treating her family to a feast and a good holiday, she said she would use her newly-found fortune to buy a shoplot and rent it out.
