On the run for 27 years, Lee Hong Mun, now 55, was arrested in May last year for his role in the death of a fish porridge hawker at Block 42, Telok Blangah Rise in November 1983.

At a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, the prosecution told the High Court was told that he would be pleading guilty on Nov 28.

He had been charged with culpable homicide for causing the death of the victim by slashing him several times on the head, neck, body and limbs.

He and an accomplice had attacked the victim, who was married with two young children. The 37-year-old suffered a deep wound on his left thigh and ran towards the main road where he collapsed and died.
