Seeking Justice for My Nephew After Assault at Admiralty Secondary School

I am deeply disturbed, not to mention heartbroken by an incident that befell my nephew, a new student at Admiralty Secondary School. On 7 January, he was brutally assaulted by a classmate in the classroom.​

The school management rang us up, saying he suffered a “minor cut” and that an ambulance had been dispatched. Upon rushing over, they once again reiterated it was just a small injury. However, later at the hospital, we were shocked to learn the following:​

• My nephew sustained a deep gash (4-5 cm long and 7-8 mm deep) on the back of his head which required several stitches.

• The hospital informed us that further assessments, like CT scans, were not immediately advisable for children due to potential radiation poisoning risks. This meant being made to wait for a good 72 hours before his condition could be fully evaluated.

• His wound is still bleeding as I am drafting this, needless to say we are growing increasingly flustered.

According to my nephew, a classmate repeatedly struck his head with a metal water bottle. The question thus begs: Why wasn't there any adult supervision present in the first place, so much so such a senselessly brutal act could transpire altogether?​
