Man survives fall from Penang Bridge
GEORGE TOWN: A man survived a fall from the Penang Bridge when he was rescued by a boatman. Penang Bridge Sdn Bhd public relations and marketing department head Suriani Mansor said the man, in his 30s, fell off the lane heading for the mainland yesterday.
“The incident happened at about 8.50am. We do not know if he was attempting suicide or he accidentally fell. Luckily, a passing boatman saw him in the water and pulled him out,” she said. Suriani urged those suffering from depression to seek help. A police spokesperson said the man had been sent to the Penang Hospital for observation.
