Man rubs woman’s breasts with ice cube

A man has pleaded guilty to molesting a woman by reaching into her bra with an ice cube.

Zheng Guo Hui (40, renovation contractor) had molested a 33-year-old female singer who performs at nightspots in Clarke Quay.

The incident happened at about 3am on 6 January last year, when the woman was chatting with friends and customers after her performance.

She had been playing games on her mobile phone when a male friend playfully flung an ice cube at her.

The ice cube fell into her clothing by chance.

She took to throwing ice cubes back at her friend and accidentally hit Zheng.

Zheng wanted to take "revenge" and got his friend to grab and hold down her arms.

He then took an ice cube and reached into her bra and rubbed it on her breasts.

The woman screamed and struggled to free herself, but not before she knocked over a table and several glasses.

Upset at being violated, she made a police report afterwards.

For his offence, Zheng faces 2 years' jail time, caning, a fine, or a combination of any two. He will be sentenced on 27 Feb.

A renovation contractor was jailed for six months on Monday for rubbing a woman's breast with an ice cube.

Tay Kok Hui, 40, had admitted to molesting the 33-year-old entertainer at a club in the River Valley area on Jan 6 last year.

A court heard that after her performance at about 3am that day, the victim stopped by a table and sat beside an acquaintance of her 26-year-old male friend and chatted with him.

While playing games on her iPhone, the acquaintance threw an ice cube at her as a joke. She threw it back but the it landed on Tay who was nearby, and she apologised to him.
