A MAN was robbed of $2,500 worth of phone cards on Tuesday night after a man attacked him from behind. The victim, aged 34, was punched in the face while he was walking along Syed Alwi Road after the man poked him from the back with a sharp object. The suspect then tried to grab a bag containing the phone cards but the victim struggled. He then used a sharp object to strike the victim's left arm, forcing him to let go of the bag. The thief then fled towards Jalan Besar. Police said the man was 1.8m tall, in his 20s and was of medium build. He was wearing a blue long sleeved t-shirt and jeans. He also sported long hair. Anyone with information may call the police hotline on 1800-255-0000.
