A MAN was arrested for repeatedly stomping on his pregnant wife’s stomach during a domestic spat on Sunday, Harian Metro reported. The woman was six months pregnant. An unnamed source said the incident happened at about 9pm when the couple, who married last year, were overheard quarrelling in their apartment in Ampang, Selangor.
“The husband wanted to go for a snooker game with his friends, but barely a few steps out the door, his wife turned up the volume of the television. “The man then got angry as he thought it was his wife’s way of challenging his decision to leave the house. “He also accused his wife of being rude by increasing the television volume,” the source said.
A medical examination showed that there was still a pulse in the unborn baby although the mother-to-be claimed that there were unstable movements. Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Jalil Hassan confirmed the arrest of the man, understood to be in his 20s, after the victim lodged a report against her husband.
