KULAIJAYA - A former factory worker decided to break into his old workplace and steal RM10,000 (S$4,000) worth of valuables and 39 passports belonging to his former colleagues.
However, there was no getting away with it.
He and another suspect were detained within eight hours of breaking into a box-manufacturing factory at Taman Sri Putri here.
Kulaijaya OCPD Supt Zulkefly Yahya said police received a report of a break-in from the factory management at about 8.15am on Tuesday and immediately set up a taskforce to find the suspects.
"Following information, we arrested two Vietnamese nationals,aged 27 and 28,in Tampoi the same day at about 2.45pm.
"They brought us to their house at Bandar Selesa Jaya where we recovered all the stolen items," he said.
Supt Zulkefly added that among the items recovered were 27 Nepalese passports, 12 Vietnamese passports, four mobile phones, two computer hard disks, a laptop, digital camera, an LCD monitor and a DVD player.
