SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 24 months' jail for viciously attacking two others.
Ashley Koh Hui Cong was convicted of punching and kicking 25-year-old Ryan Chua Teck Wee, along with four other unidentified men.
The assault took place at Club Nexus at New Bridge Road at about 2.45am in February 2013.
The accused had bumped into Mr Chua and they stared at each other.
Koh, unhappy with the victim's stares, punched and kicked Mr Chua.
Four unidentified men also joined in to beat up the victim.
While out on court bail for the attack, Koh broke 21-year-old Leonard Soh Yong Jia's nose by punching him in the face.
This took place at the car park entrance of Grand Copthorne Hotel at Havelock Road in July 2013.
In sentencing, District Judge Shaiffudin Saruwan noted that Koh committed the second offence while out on bail.
He added that the accused descended on Mr Chua with the others like a pack of wolves.
For rioting, Koh could have been jailed up to seven years and caned.
For causing grievous hurt to Mr Soh, he could have been jailed up to 10 years, fined and caned. - CNA/gn
