SINGAPORE - An unemployed man who threatened to reveal his former employer's marital affairs and business to his clients and family if he did not pay him money was jailed for four months on Monday.
Jackson Cheong Jie Sheng, 28, had pleaded guilty to threatening Mr Teo Hock Chye, 51, somewhere in Tampines on May 9 this year, with intent to cause him the deliver $10,000 cash.
A district court heard that Cheong had worked as a sales executive at Brain Development School, owned by Mr Teo, for about three months sometime between 2012 and last year.
Through his interactions with a co-worker after he left, he learnt that Mr Teo had marital problems, that one of the co-workers was underpaid, and another female had been sexually harassed at the workplace.
