A man who punched a contractor on the face on grave and sudden provocation was jailed for two weeks on Tuesday.
Chiek Kum Thong, 34, a driver, admitted to grievously hurting Mr Luar Eng Ee, 51, who suffered facial fractures and 5 to 15 per cent permanent injury to his eyes.
A district court heard that Chiek drove his van into Esso petrol station in Upper Aljunied Road on Jan 24, 2011, to fill up the tank.
While he was cleaning the vehicle's left rear brake light, Mr Luar's lorry drove past him and its rear tyre had hit his foot but he was not injured.
