A man who gave bribes to a public servant and stole $208,700 worth of property from his former wife was jailed a total of four years on Monday.
Allen Chew Wee Kiang, 39, had admitted to six of 12 charges of corruption; theft of property from his former wife, Ms Lee Siew Leng, 35, at her Bishan flat; and cheating a bank teller of $90,000.
He was charged in 2010 for the offences but later jumped bail in August the same year.
A district court heard that Chew, who was re-arrested last November, was the general manager of two companies in the business of providing lodging for foreign workers housed in Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) properties in Tuas and Jurong.
