<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> AN UNEMPLOYED man was jailed for 18 months on Wednesday for attacking his son with a chopper. Ong Chee Seng, 53, admitted to hurting the 18-year-old victim, a special school student, at his Hougang flat on Sept 26. The court heard that Ong's daughter, Ms Ong Shi Li, 24, squabbled with the victim after she refused to let him go out to meet his friend. While the two were arguing in the kitchen, Ong appeared and scolded the victim. He then punched his son on the face and body before swinging a chopper at him. The victim used his left arm to ward off the blow and was injured. Ong, who has a housebreaking conviction, could have been jailed for up to seven years and/or fined.
