Man jailed 16 weeks for MOM offences

A self-employed man was jailed for 16 weeks on Tuesday for phantom-worker violations and intentionally helping others to make false statements to the Controller of Work Passes.
Ng Seah Ngee, 51, was fined $3,000 for carrying on an unlicensed employment agency between 2007 and 2009.
He had pleaded guilty to 20 charges, with the remaining 120 taken into consideration.
The court heard that in June 2007, he approached a company director of Viquest Technology to offer his services to recruit foreign workers.
