Man jailed 15 weeks for sex with underaged prostitute

A 59-year-old man was jailed for 15 weeks today for commercial sex with an underaged prostitute.
Ang Huat Soon pleaded guilty to paying $60 for the sexual services of a 17-year-old Vietnamese girl at Lai Ming Hotel (Cosmoland) at Geylang Road on March 24 this year.
A district court heard that the minor came to Singapore to work on March 23. She had intended to work as a KTV hostess but a Vietnamese woman staying in the same lodging house told her that she could not do so as she was underaged. Instead, the woman suggested that she work as a prostitute in Geylang.
The minor took up the suggestion as she owed the agent $1,000.
