Man jailed 12 months for molesting friend's daughter

A man who was allowed to stay in his friend's flat for a period of time repaid the latter's kindness by molesting his teen daughter.
Abdul Rahim Mahmud, 44, pleaded guilty to hugging and touching the 13-year-old girl at her flat in the north on Oct 6 last year.
He was jailed for 12 months and ordered to be given three strokes of the cane on Thursday.
A district court heard that the man, who is unemployed, got into the unit by at about 1am that day by opening the main door which was unlocked.
