A man, who claimed that his motorcycle had been stolen, in being investigated for giving false information.

He called the police on July 2 to say that his motorcycle, which was parked at the void deck of Block 314 Jurong East Street 32, had been stolen by an unknown person.

In the course of the investigations, police found many discrepancies and eventually established that the man had used his motorcycle while on disqualification.

He had lodged the police report to avoid enforcement actions.

Investigations against the subject are ongoing.

Anyone who is convicted for giving false information may be punished with imprisonment of up to one year, or fined up to $5000, or both.
