MAKKAL Osai reported that a man allegedly had his two daughters murdered so he could claim the life insurance policies taken on them. Police said that the accused, Ram Kishun, a resident of Jainpur village in Faizabad district in Lucknow, had confessed to the crime.
They added that Ram was in dire need of cash as he had to make payment for a land deal and decided to kill two of his four daughters to claim the insurance money. He told the police that he had offered Rs50,000 (RM3,500) and his motorcycle to his neighbour Pawan to kill his daughters so he could claim Rs2 lakh (RM130,000) for each daughter from the insurance company.
Pawan had taken Ram’s daughters to a movie and pushed them into a river causing them to drown. Police said that they got a lead in the case after villagers said that they had seen the children with Ram on a motorcycle on the day they went missing.
