Man gets 20 months' jail, six strokes of cane for molesting daughter

SINGAPORE: A man was today sentenced to 20 months' jail and ordered to be caned six times for molesting his biological daughter.
The 48-year-old, who cannot be named, was convicted of one count of outraging the modesty of his daughter in 1998 when she was eight years old.
The delivery man also admitted to two counts of using criminal force on the victim in 2006, by rubbing his private parts on her and touching her body when she was 16.
Prosecution proceeded on the 1998 offence, while the other two were taken into consideration for sentencing purposes.
Court documents stated that the victim, now 23 years old, only filed a police report in early 2012.
